As of 2015, over two million people in the UK are living with sight loss that greatly impacts their daily lives. Opticians have a duty of care to advise and provide solutions to people with visual impairments.
This can help them to lead more independent lives. Which is why on Tuesday 3rd September we will be hosting an open day in conjuction with OrCam. There will be a free demonstration and the opportunity to try the MyEye 2 for yourselves.
The MyEye 2 is a revolutionary small AI camera that mounts to a pair of spectacles and is able to read text to the wearer. It will also recognise faces and products that have been programmed in. This is all controlled using hand signals and voice commands. This is a revolutionary piece of equiptment so it’s exciting to give people a hands on experience with the experts present to help.
If you, or someone you know has a visual impairment please come in and see us on Tuesday 3rd September for a demonstration. (We also have tea/coffee and biscuits). This event is running from 10am till 3pm
